All About Pastor James Brummett
This will be James’ eighth voyage with us since 2003. He has led five cruises for single adults and two for married couples. He has taught numerous singles conferences for an international organization called Walk Thru the Bible (http://www.walkthru.org/) and was the teaching pastor for JaxMetro, a weekly multi-denominational gathering attracting hundreds of single and young adults in Jacksonville, Florida.
James has been a pastor since 1989 and has served churches in Florida, Kentucky, Indiana, and now Virginia. In April of 2006 James was called to be the Lead Pastor of the 11 year old Journey Christian Church in Midlothian, VA. Journey is a growing community of faith whose mission is to invite and lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Under James’ leadership Journey has reinvented its ministry structure and refined its mission and focus and has more than doubled in size. James feels privileged to lead such a dynamic group of people in making a positive impact in the community around them. Journey is a “come as you are” church where people are genuinely excited about their faith, where hope and acceptance are offered to all, and where people are being transformed by the life and power of Jesus Christ.
James and Angie have been married since 1991, and they remain best friends after all these years. They believe that Costco is the best store on the planet and that if something isn’t sold there, then you just don’t need it. They have three boys ages 11, 9, and almost 3, and one girl age 6 (all their children should explain their love for Costco). James and Angie have learned that parenting four children is more like refereeing a football game than anything else; that all a boy really needs for Christmas is a new ball or a flash light and all a girl needs is another doll, more crayons and coloring books, hair bows, shoes, dresses, etc.; that short hair is better for the boys; that a girl can do anything a boy can do; that nightly baths are not optional; that kids eat a lot of food; and that the boys are always at fault when their sister is crying. Since having their daughter in 2003, James has seriously been thinking that arranged marriages may not be a bad idea. Angie is trying to talk James out of that idea—no luck yet.
James is excited about sailing with us again and can’t wait to share a little of his life and passion for a growing relationship with Jesus Christ with you.

Praise and Worship Leaders
Brad & Rebekah Bichsel
“Life’s a song. Each day a note, every week a word, a month a line, in a year, we sing a verse, and the chorus is sung every few years and on and on until full soundtracks of our life are created.”
Together Brad and Rebekah write, lead, teach and live worship. They consider it a blessing to work together and share with others the songs God has placed their hearts. They have been leading worship for 5 years- starting in Minneapolis at North Central University, followed by 2 years at Calvary Assembly of God in Elkhart IN and now traveling full-time leading worship and doing worship workshops.
Five years ago Rebekah came to North Central University telling herself she would not find a husband like everyone else (does that sound familiar?:-). Little did she know that God had other plans. It started with one song. There was a need by Brad’s Worship Team to sing a song with a female lead. Rebekah walked by at just the right time. Five years later Brad and Rebekah are now married and continue to lead worship, write and record new worship songs. Their heart is to see not only amazing times of worship but to see lives live a continual song of worship to God. They also strive to see others grow in their worship leading gifts, often running worship workshops in the churches they visit for both youth and adult teams. Both Brad and Rebekah are heavily involved in Fine Arts judging at both District and National Levels in the Assemblies of God. Brad also writes articles each month for the National Fine Arts Deploy blog. Whether it is a Sunday Morning Special, a night of worship or a cruise to Bermuda, Brad and Rebekah come ready to worship and ready to encourage the body to experience a new, life awakening time of worship.
